Software Development Skills Coach- Hybrid Working
Pertemps Work Based Learning is currently working with a fantastic training provider based in the East Midlands.
The training provider has just brought on a new contract to deliver Bootcamp Training Sessions in partnership with the Government.
The role of the Skills Coach is to deliver 12-week training courses in Software Development, alongside Apprenticeship courses at level 3 and 4.
The courses are aimed at Apprenticeship learners, employed, unemployed, and those looking to re-skill in their current role, so you will be working with a wide variety of learners.
- Salary of up to £45,000
- Hybrid working- expectation to be office based 1-2 times per month in Derby
- 25 Days + public holidays

Typical duties of the Software Development Skills Trainer/Skills Coach:
- Coach, mentor, and guide learners who are engaged in bootcamp and apprenticeship programmes.
- Plan and design specific industry-standard learning programmes in competencies, behaviours, and relationships.
- Actively support, mentor, and motivate learners in their training course, and aid with the completion of this.
- Prepare training/group session plans, utilising a variety of training methods, accommodating different learning styles.
- Use effective material and appropriate resources, at a pace and level which meets learners needs.
- Provide insightful, constructive, and informative feedback to help the learner maximise their potential.
- Observe, mark and review work produced by learners to ensure it is of the appropriate standard to reflect the learner’s qualification.
Skills and Experience Required for the Software Development Skills Coach.
- Hold a recognised Assessors Award (CAVA, TAQA, A1)
- Holding a recognised Teaching Qualification is desirable, but not essential for the role (PTLLS, Award in Education and Training)
- Ideally be educated to a degree level in Computer Science, or Information Systems.
- Functional Skills Level 2, as this will be embedded throughout the course.
- Previous experience working as a Skills Coach/Digital Skills Trainer.
- Up to date knowledge and experience working as a Software Developer.
- Prior experience in delivering Digital IT Skills at Level 3 or above.
- Experience in online delivery across platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Virtual Learning platforms.
- Flexibility to travel to Derby once or twice per month
