Job Description

As a Barclays Senior Risk Developer, you will provide intraday risk, Profit and Loss, and market data to the Macro business, and help in providing traders a view of their positions and an aggregated management view of risk for senior management which will be fed to control systems.

You will use a number of technologies such as Kafka, Redis and GraphQL along with programming languages such as .NET(F# + C#) , C++ and some Python. Lastly, you will engage with senior level stakeholders among business management and trading teams.

What will you be doing?

• Programming in .NET to change/modify the B-Risk codebase as per business requirements
• Owning key work items throughout the process development cycle
• Leading hands-on development with responsibility for ensuring project work meets highest technical standards
• Overseeing line management for 1-2 members of staff
• Interacting with Front Office (traders, business management) to discuss new requirements, issues
• Providing production support – going over details of production issues for investigation and fixes
• Discussing with business analysts details of new requirements received from Front Office or other teams
• Discussing methodology/implementation of calculations to utilise Quant libraries

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in .NET development
• Experience of development processes on a large project/team
• Ability to interact and communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the business
• Ability to deliver well designed frameworks for monitoring and testing

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Knowledge of AWS cloud technologies
• Experience with Kafka/Redis and GraphQL
• Experience of creating reliable development processes
• Knowledge of coding standards as well as Barclays controls for the release of changes to production environments

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £46,918.81-£100,101.22 per year
