Job Description

Nous is a great place to work…

Nous Group is an international management consultancy with over 800 people working across Australia and New Zealand, the UK, Ireland and Canada. We are a values-based organisation that is inspired and determined to improve people's lives in significant ways. Working in unique, cross-disciplinary teams we create innovative and enduring solutions that transform businesses, governments, and communities. We realise a bigger idea of success for skilled consultants to help shape the future and direction of our UK projects. We are a full-service management consulting firm that works across all sectors but have experienced strong demand for our services in education and government.

As a Senior Consultant, you will broaden and deepen your consulting skills. You will work on complex and interesting projects and take ownership of specific project or content domains. You will have the opportunity to take the lead on client consultations, build your project co-ordination capability and support the development of junior consultants.

This is a unique opportunity to help grow a dynamic office underpinned by the resources of a larger global consulting firm. You will have the autonomy to focus on your development, and we will provide the support to ensure that you reach your potential.

The role:

  • Take ownership of specific project domains or work streams and deliver them to a high standard
  • Lead client consultations and other client engagements
  • Undertake project coordination activities on small to medium-sized projects, building on your project management capability
  • Develop strong, well-crafted deliverables to convey key messages to clients in an influential way
  • Take an active role in client development by coordinating client or sector teams, contributing to pursuits, and identifying opportunities for future client engagements
  • Provide exceptional support to Project Directors and Managers, particularly on large projects
  • Stay across latest news and developments in the industry to inform client discussions and work
  • Support, guide and develop others on projects and in buddy/mentor roles

You are:

  • Passionate and driven about doing work that matters and creates positive influence, in an environment that values diversity and thrives on creativity
  • A collaborator: you bring energy and enthusiasm for collaborating with others throughout the project design and delivery process
  • Intelligent and resilient: solving complex problems is challenging work and requires you to balance the various pressures our clients face. Understanding and engaging well with people and content will be key
  • Self-directed: you enjoy working in a self-managed environment with autonomy
  • Enthusiastic and interested in working across our service lines and a variety of sectors

And the practical experience:

  • 2+ prior work experience in a professional environment, related to our sectors and capability areas. Look under work at nousgroup.com/uk to learn more
  • Strong analytical skills and the capacity to interpret and translate qualitative and quantitative data
  • The capability to think, articulate, write and present logically
  • Strong problem-solving ability applied in a structured and creative way
