At the NHS, we are reminded every day of how important life is. As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement whether that’s job share, part time or another flexible pattern. In addition, although the role advertised may have a ‘home’ office base indicated, we remain committed to supporting flexibility around workplace locations. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.
The successful applicant will be an NHS employee and may therefore have contact with vulnerable service users. During the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been necessary to take significant steps to protect the health and safety of our staff, service users and those attending our sites. Unless exempt, we encourage and support staff to be vaccinated as this remains the best line of defence against COVID-19.
The Research Team are looking for a motivated and capable new member of our successful and supportive team. We work closely with the Clinical Research Network to deliver a portfolio of high-quality research. We deliver research across Mental Health, Older Adults, and Adult Community services. The post holder will play a key part in recruitment, education and monitoring of patients and the collection and documentation of accurate data for those taking part in observational and interventional clinical trials.
Excellent communication and organisational skills are key to ensuring the safe conduct of the research project in accordance with the regulatory and legal frameworks. It is essential that the applicant has an interest in research, be flexible with a ‘can do’ approach. They must be able to demonstrate that they can prioritise and adjust their workload in relation to the requirements of multiple priorities.
Previous experience as a Research Nurse would be advantageous as would experience of working in Mental Health Services. However applicants who are able to demonstrate a broad range of relevant clinical skills, experience and knowledge that can be transferred to a clinical research setting will be considered. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, clinically astute, and motivated Registered Nurse to support a portfolio of research projects.
We take considerable pride in our staff and strongly encourage growth and development of individuals within the team.

Approximately 568,000 people live here. A third of people who live in Cornwall are supported by acute hospital services in Devon. As a result, we also work closely with our partners in Devon.
