Job Description
Required:
- 1st level nurse with active NMC Pin number
- ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- have a genuine interest in working within the care of the elderly
- satisfactory references and DBS check
Desired:
- to be a team player
- have experience/qualifications in the care of the elderly
- previous experience supervising a team
Main responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- To contribute to the efficient running of the home and create an atmosphere conducive of the best interest of the clients.
- Monitor the health and wellbeing of the clients and liase with appropriate health professionals, establishing good communication with the multidisciplinary team.
- Ensure care plans and documentation are completed accurately and maintained in accordance with NMC guideline and company policy.
- Assess the clients care needs and provide supervision and direct nursing care when required.
- Promote safe working practice within the care home.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues ensuring relevant information is handed over to the appropriate people.
- To administer prescribed medication and document the same in accordance with company procedures and NMC guidelines.
- To supervise and instruct junior and new staff members in all aspects of their work within the home, giving help and guidance where appropriate.
- To maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence. keeping professionally updated in all areas of clinical expertise.
- To attend mandatory training courses as required both on and off site.
