Regional Manager – Major Projects South

The Major Projects team handle our market leading high end hydraulic propping solutions, having access to the largest stock of Major Projects equipment in the UK. Our clients benefit from a comprehensive technical support service, provided by a team of qualified civil engineers based around the UK, including on-site support. Additional features of our offering include BIM compliance; real time wireless load monitoring with customer website data access; the widest range of heavy duty hydraulic equipment offering prop spans in excess of 50m (with intermediate support).
We are now looking to add to our team a Regional Manager – Major Projects South to further our support to our client base, specifically in the South of England.
As a Groundforce (part of the Vp plc group) Regional Manager you will play a pivotal role in providing a first class service offering to clients whilst also in maintaining, managing and growing our client portfolio. As the Regional Manager you will spend most of your time visiting our clients within Construction, key contacts being Consulting Engineers, Temporary Works Co-ordinators, Contracts Managers. The role involves identifying new opportunities, planning solutions, liaising with our team and the clients team of engineers, project estimating along our in house team, and successful delivery of projects for clients.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a track record in nurturing and fostering client relationships, developing contacts on site and helping them find the most innovative and cost-efficient solutions for their needs. You'll be adaptable in your approach to the client contact in front of you, as it could be a senior management team one day to site personnel the next, finding yourself in planning meetings, site meetings on construction sites or client offices. This means rolling your sleeves up and presenting some of the most pioneering products and solutions in the industry, along with all the services and after-care that come with Groundforce.
Some of the boxes you need to tick…
- Knowledge of the construction industry, working with civil engineering contractors and / or temporary works, is preferred
- Negotiation skills (technical sales) at all levels, good presentation and influencing skills
- Proven ability to build relationships and win new business
- Engineering degree advantageous but not essential, civil, structural or mechanical
