TUC Northern Region, Project Worker Skills

Grade 6 £40,892 per annum

Hours 35 hours per week (happy to talk flexible working)

Fixed term contract to 30 September 2024 (happy to talk secondment)

Based at our regional office in Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 8TW

We’re excited to offer this collaborative opportunity to work for the TUC joining our Northern regional team to support the delivery of a new joint skills project alongside the North of Tyne Combined Authority including:


  • developing strategies to increase adult access to learning;

  • increasing apprenticeships and learning at work opportunities;

  • working with ULRs, their employers and other stakeholders to identify skills gaps and growth opportunities in the area


What Experience, Skills, Knowledge and understanding do I need?


  • experience of trade unions and their role in workplaces

  • understanding of learning and skills; not for profit/ third sector or similar organisations

  • skilled in communication, research and data analysis, and building networks

  • knowledge of union learning and government policy and practice on learning and skills
