A fixed term vacancy has arisen in the Surgical Division for a Project and Development Coordinator to lead on the delivery of the Neurosur Screening Projects.
This is available for 12 months in the first instance, with the possibility of a further extension.
Successful candidates will work as part of the Advanced Spinal Practitioner team to improve quality of the service,
Main duties of the job
The role will facilitate new developments and service improvements to provide a quality service for spinal patients. The role is to support in the implementation of the services digital strategy and to help develop, co-ordinate and evaluate the effectiveness of new projects eg spinal outreach service.
The role requires liaison with all types of stakeholders, as well as writing and presenting key reports.
Being able to confidently speak to stakeholders e.g. service leads, managers, digital services, clinical staff and transformation leads is essential.
You will have experience in leading teams of individuals and motivating them to help the delivery of projects and performance indicators. You will be able to work under pressure and work to deadlines, have good communication and negotiation skills, excellent planning, time management and organisational skills. You must be able to take on additional responsibility when required and be able use initiative to problem solve existing issues and any potential problems that may arise.

The post holder will be responsible for providing Project and Service development to the Neuro-spinal Assessment Unit. The role includes aspects of operational and performance management as well as service improvement to ensure that the service achieves its performance objectives.
Be competent in the use of Excel spreadsheets, and able to contribute to data and reports.
Provide a resource to support project development and project implementation and take a lead for a number of designated projects.
Contributes to the planning and delivery of the Advanced Spinal Practitioner Service, including supporting departmental systems and processes to ensure key objectives and targets are met.
The post holder is expected to ensure that agreed standards and targets are met in their area of work.
Supports the HoS, Clinical leads and Service Manager in the delivery of spinal services as a member of the Management Team.
Understand and implement initiatives designed to improve services in line with GIRFT principals and nationally agreed targets.
Take a lead on specific projects and provides support to other projects and developments.
Contribute to the planning and implementation of new ways of working and contribute to the Business Planning process.
Travel when necessary to national and East Midlands meetings to present data and represent the service.
Human resources
Support and liaise with the administrative and digital teams, to ensure a cohesive approach to data collection, interpretation and presentation.
Participate in the annual management review and ensures commit to personal development.
Maintains (and develops) sound internal communications systems within the Department
Framework.
Takes and transcribe minutes at senior meetings as required and circulate minutes and chase completion of action items
Information resources
Liaises and works with the Information Officer and Reporting Analyst in the implementation and management of information systems within the service.
Canvass and identify service improvement suggestions from service users and submit to change management procedure.
Provide, as necessary, information to support the activity planning and performance monitoring processes of the service.
Audit and Development
Undertake audits of processes and procedures as directed by the clinical team.
Maintain and develop Standard Operating Procedures and other protocols for administrative tasks.
