Are you a dietitian with a broad range of clinical experience and an interest in working within the Children's Home Enteral feeding team . We are looking for a 1.0 WTE .

The Dietitians appointed would become a member of the Community Outreach Team based at Nottingham City Hospital Campus, which has around 20 staff supporting over 700 HEF patients, including children, in Nottinghamshire. The post-holder will join the Children's HEF team who have good links to the specialist teams at Nottingham Children’s Hospital.

The post holder will manage a varied HEF paediatric caseload (0-19yrs) and will visit community settings including patient's homes, schools, and respite centers . They will work closely with Children’s Community Nursing Teams to support children with complex needs at home. In addition we have the support of Specialist Children’s Nurses at the Children’s Hospital.

You'll need to have excellent communication and leadership skills, a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and workload and that of other members of staff within the supportive team . Paediatric and or home enteral feeding experience is desirable however we are happy to provide support and development of the required skills if required .

Working for our organisation

The home enteral feeding team is a team of around 20 dietitians , dietetic assistants , coordinators, nurses and administration staff . They are part of a large and friendly dietetic department of around 90 staff providing dietetic and nutrition support across all areas of the Trust and beyond.

The Trust is committed to providing excellent nutritional care, led by its Nutrition and Hydration Steering committee. We have close links with the University of Nottingham, and take student dietitians for A, B and C placements.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You will be responsible for a caseload of Children at home within Nottinghamshire on enteral feeds .

You will be required to review the infants and children at their place of residence in the community ,nurseries and schools.

Will work closely with children's teams, industry partners and care providers within Nottinghamshire .

In addition to being responsible for meeting patients nutritional needs you will be required to support the education , training and management of the feeding tubes /devices .

You should have experience of working as a paediatric dietitian and preferably have experience of working with children requiring enteral feeds . Your will need excellent communication skills, self-motivation, have a flexible approach and the ability to manage your own time and busy workload within a supportive team. You should also be able to build good working relationships with the wider team within the community in order to provide joined-up care to patients. Nutritional support skills are essential and additional training and support will be provided . As part of this role you will be required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE).
