As part of our Oracle practice, we have a new opportunity for a Practice Operations Manager (reporting to the Practice Operations Director). This role requires a close working relationship with Commercial (Customer Success, Sales), Workforce Management (Talent Acquisition, Human Resources), Finance and Delivery teams spread across our UK, Ireland and India footprint. The successful candidate will have strong organisational skills, is comfortable working with numbers and forecasting, and enjoys building relationships within and outside of their team.

Pivotal to the ability of our new practice to scale, you will manage the operational rhythm of the practice leadership team, liaise with Commercial teams to maintain a current, accurate understanding of forecast sales opportunities in order to make considered recommendations on hiring plans and accurately predict practice performance.

You will work with Workforce Management and Delivery teams to ensure that the practice is appropriately staffed, learning and development as well as engagement plans are in place, and the practice capable of responding to burst resourcing requirements. You will work with Finance and Delivery teams to manage risk and ensure that the drivers for practice performance, across Strong Organisation, Customer Success and Empowered People, are tracked, managed and widely understood.

The role is highly varied and agile, evolving over time as the practice does. It will enable you to gain broad experience across delivery, commercial and business support and has the potential to be a key enabling role which will accelerate practice growth and success.


Job Description


This role will enable you to gain a lot of experience and understanding of practice management, mobilisation and operations. It will provide opportunity and potential to develop into a key Version 1 leader as the practice evolves and grows. You will:

Strong Organisation

  • Work closely with Commercial teams to understand sales opportunity pipeline and impact on recruitment and workforce management requirements
  • Support preparation for the monthly Business Review Meeting, ensuring any anomalies in the data are identified and explain by working with the Finance Business Partner.
  • Ensure actions from the Business Review Meetings are followed-up, have clear owners and are completed post BRM.
  • Co-ordinate the practice hiring plan, in consultation with Practice Head, Portfolio Directors and Practice Leads, to ensure that roles are raised and recruitment is on track to match the forecast. Ensure key hires are prioritised and facilitate unblocking and resolution of issues such as availability of interviewers.

Empowered People

  • Develop a regular, engaging communications plan for the practice, keeping everyone updated on everything going on all three sides of the triangle.
  • Work with the ops team to evolve our academies in 2023/24 to ensure we’re building the skills we need in the team
  • Facilitate an effective digital induction into the practice for all new hires, building on the company induction.
  • Monitor and manage the certification process together with the partner management team to make sure we have the required certifications we need and are continuously building on those.
  • Support the interview and assessment process of new hires.
  • Leverage the GPTW results to support an overall People Plan across UK, Ireland and India together with the Portfolio Directors and Practice Leads.

Customer Success

  • Monitor the quarterly and monthly customer scores on behalf of the Practice Head and Ops Director and support on the investigation of any detractor issues for resolution.
  • Work with the Marketing team to identify and produce compelling content such as case studies, customer success stories and videos to build the Oracle Cloud story
  • Participate and support on submission of bids and tenders e.g. facilitating the identification of the right information for company-level answers.
  • Support or lead on ad hoc customer issues raised where additional help is needed.

Qualifications
  • This is a role for someone with a proven ability and history of ‘getting things done’.
  • You will have excellent Excel experience and building and designing reports. Knowledge of Power BI or Tableau would be beneficial.
  • You’ll be a self-starter who will identify what needs to be done, take ownership and drive things to conclusion with minimal oversight. You’ll have a good awareness of when there is a need to escalate and when to just press on with things.
  • You’ll understand the Strength in Balance model and be pivotal to applying it in this role.
  • You’ll be able to influence, support and drive others who do not have a reporting line to you as much of what you’ll need to deliver in your own will need support from multiple departments and portfolios across Version 1
  • You’ll have some project management skills or as a minimum be a proven organiser and shaper with a history of delivering on time and to budget.
  • Ideally, you’ll have an understanding of Oracle and/or ERP, but this is not essential
