Job Description

Role: Operations Manager

Salary: Depending on experience

Location: Southampton (on-site)

As the Operations Manager you will be responsible for management of the EPR team to ensure smooth running of the department and will lead on execution of projects whilst managing goals and objectives to ensure risks are mitigated.

The successful incumbent will be commercially astute and agile and will have demonstrable experience in running a business unit, providing technical advice and delivery of procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategise and outline the goals and objectives of the EPR programme.
  • Manage the detailed day-to-day aspects of projects.
  • Monitor productivity and work closely with other department heads to improve efficiency.
  • Develop sustainable processes to ensure quality and increase productivity and profitability.
  • Monitor multiple EPR projects through the entire programme cycle.
  • Assign project managers and teams to projects and set timelines and due dates.
  • Estimate and implement budgets and manage and submit documentation.
  • Communicate objectives, goals, and progress to directors, executives, and stakeholders.
  • Lead and manage team members, setting KPIs and measuring performance.
  • Show a strong understanding of measurement and reporting providing continued ROI and business impact.
  • Keep up to date with, and understand, relevant laws and regulations.
  • Data Protection/Privacy.
  • Draft new and amend existing internal data protection policies, guidelines and procedures, in consultation with key stakeholders.
  • Deliver training across all business units to staff members who are involved in data handling or processing; ensure robust documentation regarding policies are in place and are being followed.

Essential skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Extensive experience in programme management, project management, administration, or related field.
  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and writing skills.
  • Organised and proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Works well in a team as well as independently.
  • Excellent multi-tasking ability.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to identify, network with and manage key stakeholders, building and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Exceptional numerical and analytical ability, combined with a willingness to get involved at a detailed functional level as necessary.
  • Experienced at implementing change to maximise efficiency in processes, results, and team structure.
  • Ability to leverage technology, identifying opportunities to improve processes and productivity.
  • Capability to develop new skills and understand new technology as required.

Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:

  • Experience or knowledge of International E-Commerce.
  • Degree in Environmental Policy, Science, Engineering, Law, Economics, Social Sciences or a closely related subject.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of environmental legislation and strategies in Europe relating to the circular economy.
