An opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Engineer to provide metallurgical testing and chemical analysis at our Materials Testing Laboratory. This is an exciting opportunity for a Graduate who is passionate about Materials Science and is looking to build a career within the technical engineering industry. We are seeking someone who wants to learn new skills and techniques within a growing and supportive business.

Key Requirements:

  • Good IT literacy skills
  • Degree in Materials Science
  • Passion for Material Science and Engineering
  • Willing to learn new and modern lean tools and techniques

Responsibilities:

  • Support the booking in of laboratory jobs
  • Processing samples in line with Standard Operating Procedures, including cutting, grinding, polishing, etching, replication
  • Processing samples in line with Standard Operating Procedures, including microscope analysis work with reference to specifications, chemical analysis using an Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) and/or an XRF analyser, etc
  • Report analysis findings in an accurate and concise manner.
  • Ensuring calibration standards are maintained
