The E-Commerce team seeks to further advance this mission by connecting buyers, sellers and content creators in one seamless, trusted online shopping experience. The EMEA E-commerce Governance & Experience (GNE) team seeks to inspire and preserve trust in TikTok E-Commerce, by designing and implementing end-to-end governance & experience programmes that enable a safe, trustworthy and thriving international marketplace.

As a Governance Strategist & Programmes Manager, you will play an impactful role in ensuring that our Merchants and Products conform to regulatory and platform requirements, to minimise ecosystem risks and enhance customers' trust in TikTok E-commerce.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive enforcement strategies ensuring that Merchants and Products conform to regulatory standards; to minimise ecosystem risks and enhance customers' trust
  • Ensure a good customer experience while balancing frictions added to Merchants
  • Design data-driven policies & strategies to improve product listings requirements like mandatory attributes and certifications, product quality and product safety, assortment control, etc.
  • Assess risks of categories and products sold on TikTok E-commerce, such as Illegal, Prohibited or Restricted Goods & Services; design and implement controls to regulate such items on TikTok E-commerce
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders worldwide, such as Product, Legal, Moderation, Engineering, Business Teams, etc., to effectively implement governance and enforcement strategies
  • Establish processes, feedback loops, and investigational workflows; conduct ad-hoc investigations and reviews as needed, to address related issues
  • Conduct data-driven impact analyses and post-launch monitoring related to strategies impacting sellers, creators and users, as well as overall ecosystem revenue and conversion metrics, etc.
  • Drive improvements in top-line metrics related to product listings quality & safety, quality-related returns and refunds, etc.
  • Support data reporting, communications, and enforcement actions for related issues
Qualifications
  • Strong Bachelor's degree and above, preferably in Law or Regulatory Compliance, or related fields
  • 4+ years of demonstrated hands-on and in-depth experience in developing e-commerce merchants and products compliance strategies
  • Proficiency in utilising querying and analytical tools and conducting data analysis (e.g., SQL, Python, Excel) will be advantageous
  • Possesses excellent strategic thinking, as well as programme management and communication skills, with the ability to manage and push complex projects, as well as influence multiple cross-functional teams
  • Familiar with EMEA E-commerce governance & experience, regulatory & compliance requirements
  • Proactive and driven, with a strong work ethic and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to thrive in ambiguity and handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to develop and communicate complex strategies in writing
  • Proficiency in other EMEA languages is a plus, given the need to develop or review policies, content, or compliance documents in local EMEA languages
