Refresco, the world’s leading independent soft drinks manufacturer seeks an agile, energetic, business facing, Finance Business Partner, to act as the partner, gatekeeper and financial conscience for our Refresco UK canning manufacturing sites at Milton Keynes & Pontefract (West Yorkshire). The role is based at our Kegworth Head Office in the East Midlands, but also requires regular travel to the sites at Milton Keynes and Pontefract, so that you are constantly in tune with your key stakeholders. The role also covers central functions based at out Kegworth Head Office. You will provide insights, challenges and robust financial analysis of existing and future costs for your sites and central head office teams.

About the Role

As Finance Business Partner you report to the Operations Finance Manager and are part of a dedicated operationally focused finance business partnering team. Through business partnering and stakeholder management you will provide insight in to the numbers, challenge them to improve. You will also deliver accurate management accounts, budgets and forecasts, identifying and highlighting the key activity cost drivers to enhance financial outcomes for Refresco Milton Keynes, Pontefract manufacturing sites, plus central head office functions.

You will have already been in a similar role, so are probably aware of these key main duties and responsibilities, but to be transparent here is a summary:

  • Own and coordinate the planning and reporting cycles for Refresco Milton Keynes & Pontefract in collaboration with key stakeholders, particularly the Factory Managers.
  • Own and coordinate the planning and reporting cycles for central Head Office functions in collaboration with key stakeholders, particularly heads of department.
  • Build effective business relationships and gain credibility as a true business expert. You will have an entrepreneurial mind-set and the ability to provide financial insights that improve performance.
  • Be particularly meticulous and vigilant in planning, monitoring, and reporting headcount, waste, energy, and maintenance performance.
  • Act as the financial conscience of the Site Operations team, ensuring that targets for the areas under your responsibility are met or exceeded.
  • Prepare financial calculations / models to support capital expenditure business cases, including robust challenge on assumptions to ensure return on investment is maximised.
  • Prepare and execute period end tasks at the required standard and time scales and deliver accurate reports on time.
  • Maintain all necessary records and prepare all required period end allocations and journals.
  • Deliver ad hoc projects and analysis as required from time to time.


About You

It goes without saying that as this is a critical finance business partnering role in Refresco UK that you are ACCA, CIMA or ACA fully qualified, and also have a background in finance business partnering / FP&A / management accounting, but we also want someone who will role model the Refresco core values - agile, responsible, excellent, passionate and entrepreneurial - see here for more detail: https://www.refresco.co.uk/uk/about/our-values

You will be used to working in a team, sharing ideas, knowledge and expertise with colleagues around you. Working with your stakeholders, you have the ability and experience to guide and empower them, help them to deliver accurate results and support proactively. A good communicator, in meetings and presentations, you have a knack of picking out the salient points which will be critical to improve performance.

You will need to be used to working in a fast paced, demanding environment so manufacturing sector exposure is essential. Retail, pharmaceutical or logistics are other sectors similarly fast paced and we can consider this background too.

You will need experience of working with ERP systems, preferably SAP, handling data and your MS Office skills will need to be very good, in particular MS Excel.

Finally you will need to be open to getting to the Refresco canning sites in Milton Keynes and Pontefract when required, sometimes at short notice.
