In partnership with our client, iGo Recruitment are recruiting an experienced
Occupational Therapist to train as an
Occupational Therapist Disability Assessor to work remotely from home on the DWP's Personal Independence Payment (PIP) service.
This role is predominantly home-based, with local assessment centre working occasionally. After you have become competent in the role, all full and part time roles include a flexible self-led working schedule based on your preferences, in agreement with your line manager for example you can structure your work any hours between 0800-2000 each day, as long as the work gets done and appointments are agreed with your manager.

£35,000 rising to £37,000 in year 1
London/SE £42,000 rising to £44,000 in year 1
Additionally the role attracts a 10% quality and performance bonus.
Sought skills and experience
Occupational Therapists from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply, especially those adept with adult (16-64) varied patient groups including those with Physical, Mental Health and Learning Disability patient experience.
Occupational Therapists work with multi-disciplinary teams formed of Nurses (RGN, RMN and RNLD), Physiotherapists, Paramedics and non-clinicians to provide an independent functional assessment service to patients and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP).
As as
Occupational Therapist Disability Assessor you will:
- Join and receive training to give you a qualification as a Disability Assessor
- Use your broad-based medical experience and clinical knowledge to conduct paper-based and face to face reviews of applications for PIP, conduct independent health assessments and write objective, accurate reports for the end client (DWP).
- Critical reasoning through objective, logical and careful analysis of each case enables you to work in this functional assessment setting, using your excellent clinical skills and experience as an Occupational Therapist, in a new applied way.
- Work with your colleagues to deliver a timely assessment process that is professional and excels patient and commissioning client expectations.

Requirements:
- HCPC Occupational Therapist
- UK Based with existing eligibility to live and work in the UK
- At least one year’s post HCPC registration OT experience working with adult patients aged 16 to 64
- Good written and verbal communication skills - can you listen, interpret and document clinical information that you see and hear
- Competent with IT and keyboard use (laptop provided)
