Job Description

ABOUT JOURNEY
Journey is a team of digital specialists based in Auckland, London and India. We love what we do, and we do it well. We look after each other and have fun together.

We create digital customer experiences through a blend of consulting, design, and development.

Our focus is on digital products as well as mobile apps, and software for national and international clients. Our goal is to make Journey the place where you can do the best work of your career and enjoy yourself at the same time.

OUR VALUES

  • Know the why.
  • Be a radiator.
  • Be prepared.
  • Never settle.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As our Journey Content Creator, you will lead the charge on ideating and creating visual content that connects our Journey brand with the world.

Level: An experienced intermediate, or early-career senior.
Location: Central London, with work-from-home flexibility (part home, part in-office).
A small-but-growing London team with head office in New Zealand.

YOU WILL:

  • Be first and foremost responsible and accountable for our in-house content generation, helping to translate our Journey business goals, sales goals and marketing/comms strategies into engaging digital content solutions.
  • Work alongside our senior management to plan out quarterly comms themes. From these business strategies you will then suggest, plan and execute the content strategy.
  • Occasionally work on content production projects for our clients.
  • Be responsible for the planning, writing, producing, directing, shooting and editing of content. This content could result in a blog article, social media post, award submission, video interview, case study, white paper, marketing automation campaign, etc.
  • Be comfortable and competent in creating both video footage and still photography.
  • Be able to generate a piece of content, then distribute it quickly (often through multiple channels). You’ll then collect and report on the data/ROI.
  • Be immersed in (and enthusiastic about) using AI platforms to produce written content and images.
  • Have skills and experience in practical aspects of video and still photography, including technical knowledge about production equipment (e.g. cameras, lighting, software, etc.).
  • Have solid and engaging interviewing skills. Be able to plan interview questions to bring out the best answers.
  • Have a good design eye and be able to produce content that is visually pleasing and effective.
  • Be a proactive contributor who is ready and willing to offer their ideas.
  • Be a storyteller, and know how to find the best story from a brief. Be able to translate that story-telling into a visual storyboard to help communicate your ideas to others.
  • Take ownership of the Journey website and social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, etc.).
  • Take ownership of Journey’s paid and earned promotional activities (including social advertising and PR).
  • Liaise with team members to plan filming sessions, secure their time, and brief them well.
  • Research into competitor content production activity.
  • Compile client project case studies for use across our media channels, sales presentations and awards submissions.
  • Be based in our London office and liaise with our teams in both Auckland and London. Some flexibility with your hours will be required (to communicate across the time zones). Some national and international travel may be required on occasion.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have a solid portfolio/sizzle reel of commercially-based work showing a breadth of skills across video, still photography, producing, directing and editing.
  • You are passionate about storytelling using video, words and images.
  • You have energy to burn.
  • You love to try new things.
  • You have a thirst for knowledge, and are constantly consuming a wide range of digital media.
  • You must be a people-person, and a ‘radiator’ of positivity.
  • You must have a high level of written and spoken English is essential. Having content writing/copywriting ability is preferable but not essential.

Please note:

This is a B2B Content Creator role. We are marketing our services to business clients, rather than consumers, so it is vital that you have had experience in this space, and can demonstrate your B2B content marketing work via a portfolio or sizzle reel.

You’ll be a one-man-band (within a wider team), so you’ll need to be fully-hands-on and capable of producing all of the marketing content yourself, or with minimal assistance.

BENEFITS

  • A competitive salary.
  • Career progression plan.
  • 25 days’ holiday per year.
  • Pension, with 3% contribution.
  • Flexible working (hybrid home/office days).
  • Regular team socials and activities.
  • A highly-supportive, people-oriented culture and working environment.
  • Support from head office in New Zealand.
  • Being an early part of Journey’s growth journey in EMEA.
