Care First Recruitment Ltd is currently recruiting for Care Assistants in Bedfordshire (Dunstable)
You will need to be able to work independently or as part of a team, undertake aspects of personal care and support service users in line with their service plans whilst maintaining good relationships. You will also be required to take care of your own safety and that of other people, particularly with respect to welfare and safeguarding issues.
Duties:
- To look after the physical, emotional, cultural and social needs of service users
- To observe and promote the service users choice, independence, dignity, privacy, fulfilment and other rights
- To create and maintain good professional relationships with service users, their family and friends
- To actively support other staff
- To adhere to all policies, procedures and guidelines
- To provide personal care and support to service users with a range of needs, illnesses and disabilities
- To encourage the independence and motivation of service users
- To assist service users to wash, bath and shower/dress
- To assist service users to look after their skin, teeth, hair and nails
- To assist service users with their medication at the agreed level of support and as detailed in their Medication Care Needs Assessment
- To help the service users to maintain relationships with friends and family
- To maintain detailed accurate records of care and medication support given and tasks undertaken
Qualifications/ training
· NVQ level 2 health and social care or equivalent (desirable)
· Medication awareness
· Manual handling
· First aid
All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check
All successful candidates will be subject to 5 years checkable work history
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary contract
Part-time hours: 36 per week
Salary: £10.00-£10.50 per hour
Schedule:
- 10 hour shift
- 12 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
